Overview

Our Smart Home Automation Controller integrates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity with optocoupler-isolated relay modules, current sensors, and a real-time MQTT dashboard. Built around the ESP32 dual-core microcontroller, it enables voice, app, and local web-based control of appliances while retaining physical switch synchronization.

Highlights

  • Optocoupler-isolated 4-channel 250V relay switching
  • Real-time MQTT telemetry & local WebServer control
  • Dual-way physical wall switch synchronization
  • Current monitoring with overload auto-cutoff

The Challenge

Maintaining instantaneous physical switch state updates over WebSocket while managing non-blocking MQTT reconnection loops.

The Outcome

Deployed in community workshops as our primary IoT learning kit, teaching students full-stack embedded development from relay wiring to web dashboards.
